As we exit onto Nelson Road, the carnage is shocking. Nelson is covered with telephone poles, power lines, and trees. Peter's subdivision is our first stop, and as we approach it, our hearts stop. Aside from one parked vehicle at the entrance to Whispering Woods, we are the only car on Nelson Road. We park on the main road, turn on our flashers, and head into the subdivision. We are forced to enter from the side, since the entire entrance is wholly obscured.
